OUR STORY

Cold Lake Community Church started as a replant in the Cold Lake area, back 10 years ago.  The planting pastor struggled with seeing people plug in and attending, with the church hitting about twenty people total.  He had, however, no idea about the seeds he was planting, and the ground he was plowing.  We totally bless him for all the blood, sweat and tears!

Pastor Hayward Eastman came to Cold Lake 8 years ago as an intern pastor.  Soon after he arrived he fell in love with the people in the church, and accepted the role as pastor.  The PAOC district came along side this venture and sponsored Pastor Eastman for a one year commitment to see what God would do, and within 8 months the church called the district to inform them they no longer required sponsorship for they had become self sufficient with a congregation now of about 50.

A Few more years passed, and with the congregation continuing to grow, Pastor Eastman called his Son-in-Law Lance Steeves, who was a youth pastor in Calgary.  He asked Lance to come to Cold Lake as an assistant pastor and help them prepare for two services.  The congregation was now at 90 but the building could only hold 120.  After prayer, Pastor Lance agreed and moved to Cold Lake to partner with his Father-in-Law.  This was their second "partnership" together as Pastor Lance interned with Pastor Hayward in Bible college 12 years prior.  Six months after Pastor Lance arrived he and Pastor Hayward switched roles allowing Pastor Hayward to move into more of a part time position and enjoy semi-retirement.
 
Together, with the help of the Lord, they launched the 2nd service and the church in the past four years has grown to a little over 400.  To facilitate this growth the church purchased an old college in downtown Cold Lake.  The renovations included a new auditorium that can hold 300 and a huge children's wing where many kids can get together and worship Jesus.  This is truly amazing as 1/3 of our church is under the age of 12!
 
The Current board at CLCC was away for a time of prayer and seeking the Lord when God showed us that we are an equipping cente. Our role and purpose is to see families come tegether!  We are called to train up and disciple people so that no matter where God takes them they will be equipped to share, teach, and proclaim the life changing message of Jesus.

We are a transparent church and want to stand firm with families as life brings us the good, the bad, and the ugly to know that God is our rock.  We love our city, and we declare that Jesus Christ is Lord of Cold Lake!
